Through an intensive study and application of business and marketing principles, Dr. Bavonese and Dr. Restum have run private practices that have been in the top 1% of all practices for over 20 years. They founded Uncommon Practices in 2005 to help other clinicians learn key business and marketing principles.In this initial call for all new program participants, we will review all the elements of the program and answer any questions you might have. Each participant will have individual and group support every month during the entire six-month program, to ensure that the program is addressing your unique practice needs and is helping you manifest your specific practice vision.
- The Business of Psychotherapy: Creating Your Ideal Practice program
In this, our original breakthrough program, you will learn the most practical, important, practice-tested business concepts and strategies that we’ve learned from studying business – and running successful practices – for over 20 years. Participants will receive bi-weekly articles on business fundamentals, and have bi-weekly written homework assignments, to help them apply the material to their unique situation, and to help maintain accountability for making steady progress in creating a successful practice. Participants will get feedback on their assignments from their mentor coach. You are also automatically invited to participate in the Internet Marketing Training group, where ou can ask questions every day online, and participate in a monthly live Q&A/Training webinar. This is a great way to hear how other clinicians are succeeding, and get feedback on your unique practice situation.
- Comprehensive Website Analysis
Creating a successful mobile-responsive online presence is essential for private practice success in the 21st century. One of our programmers will work with you to create a site that reflects your specialties – and is optimized for local search. You will be able to edit your own site when it’s done. If you already have an existing site, we will perform a comprehensive 15-point website analysis on how you can improve your site’s performance, in terms of traffic generation and converting visitors to clients.
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO) service
Having a website is just the first step in attracting online referrals. With our Search Engine Optimization service, we position your site online to greatly increase the likelihood of being found on a local organic searches on Google and Bing. We register your site with numerous online directories to provide valuable inbound links; give specific feedback on optimizing your meta tags; and create location and social media profiles on Google and Bing, accounting for 97% of all local searches for psychotherapy.
- Development of a Pay Per Click Advertising campaign

After consultation with you, Joe will personally create a new Google advertising campaign and monitor it closely for 90 days.
- Community Marketing Program
In addition to Internet Marketing, Community Marketing is the other essential pillar to a successful marketing campaign for your practice. In this six module program, you will learn everything you need to know to reach out to people in your community who can refer to your practice. Whether it’s doctors, attorneys, or other professionals who fit your area(s) of specialization, you’ll learn exactly how to connect with these people for ongoing referrals to your practice. This module of the program includes three 30 Minute Consultations to help you apply what you are learning, and to take action in your community to generate community referrals.
